Operational Units

The University of Ilorin Renewable Energy Centre comprises the following operational units:

• Renewable Energy Development and Independent Power Plant Unit
• Renewable Energy System Planning and Operation Unit
• Design, Fabrication, Maintenance, and Services Unit
• Safety and Environment Unit

These units work together to advance renewable energy research, development, and implementation.

Research Outputs

The Centre conducted load auditing project of specific facilities on the main campus, including student hostels, lecture halls, and walkways. This information guided the University administration on matters related to the University’s energy infrastructure The Centre spearheads research initiatives in renewable energy at the University, having an impressive portfolio of approximately 30 publications and 10 ongoing projects. Our objective is to translate these research findings into practical, operationally viable energy solutions for our campus and pursue patent opportunities.
